Q 1. Conduct some research in reliable, scholarly resources from the UMUC library and the learning resources and identify a historical event in ancient Indian history, in the biography of a guru, or in more recent history of India that is associated with an Indian myth or that has been mythologized. 2. Identify the date (or approximate dates) of the specific historical or biographical event and the specific Indian myth associated with it. Or describe how the event has been mythologized. 3. Explain how you think this event took on mythological meaning or how specific mythic themes or myths are used to explain this event. What specific traits make these stories mythical and not historical? How does the historical or biographical event differ from the myth? 4. Cite your sources using MLA format in a Works Cited list at the end of your post. 5. In your replies to your classmates, evaluate their posts by comparing and contrasting their descriptions and the connections they made with yours. Initial posts are due by Saturday at 11:30PM ET and at least three responses to fellow classmates are expected by the end of the academic week on Tuesday by 11:30PM ET.

When talking about Indian mythology, Rama Setu plays a significant part and is worth noticing. It is also known as the “Adam’s Bridge” and was believed to be constructed 18400 years back. A lot of controversy later developed on established and destruction of this Rama Setu. This Adam’s bridge is a long stretch of limestone shoals between Pamban Island near Rameshwaram and Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. Many geologists have also claimed that it was a connection between India and Sri Lanka back in the Ice Age.
